First Person Blackjack
Objective of the game
The objective of First Person Blackjack is to obtain a higher total of cards than the virtual dealer without exceeding 21. The best hand is called “blackjack,” and occurs when the value of the first two cards is exactly 21.
- It is played with 8 decks.
- The cards are shuffled before each game.
- The dealer always stands on 17.
- You can double down after receiving the initial two cards.
- You can split starting cards of the same value.
- You can only split once per hand.
- One card dealt for each split Ace.
- Doubling after splitting is not allowed.
- You can purchase insurance if the dealer is dealt an Ace.
- Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
- Insurance pays 2 to 1.
- The game ends in a draw when the hands add up to the same amount.
Rules of the game
This game is played with 8 standard decks of 52 cards. The values are as follows:
- Cards 2 through 10 are worth their face value.
- Face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) are worth 10.
- Aces are worth 1 or 11, depending on which is more favorable for the hand. Note that a “soft” hand contains an Ace worth 11.
Five hands are available. You can place your bets on one or more hands. After you have placed your bets, click/tap the DEAL button to start dealing. Dealing starts from the hand closest to the “shoe” and continues clockwise to the virtual dealer. One card is dealt face up to each hand and to the virtual dealer. Then, the second card is dealt face up to each hand and the last card is dealt face down to the virtual dealer. The value of each starting hand is displayed next to the cards in each hand.
Blackjack
If the value of the first two cards in your starting hand is 21, you have a Blackjack!
Sure
If the virtual dealer's up card is an Ace, you are given the option to purchase insurance to offset the risk that the virtual dealer has Blackjack, even if you yourself have Blackjack. The insurance amount is equal to half of your main bet, and the insurance bet is settled separately from the bet on your hand. The virtual dealer's down card is then checked to see if he has Blackjack. If he does not have Blackjack, the round continues. If the virtual dealer has Blackjack, but you do not, the virtual dealer's hand wins. If you both have Blackjack, the game ends in a tie and your bet is returned to you. Please note that if the virtual dealer's up card is a 10 or a face card, you will not have the option to purchase insurance and the virtual dealer's down card will not be checked to see if he has Blackjack.
Fold, Hit or Stand
When the virtual dealer does not have Blackjack when checking the initial two cards, players have the opportunity to improve the values of their hands at the same time by choosing to have more cards dealt.
If your starting hand value is not 21, you can decide to Double Down. If you do, you will double your bet and only one additional card will be dealt to your hand. Alternatively, you can decide to hit one additional card to add to the value of your hand. You can hit on more than one occasion and stand once you are satisfied with the value of your hand.
Split
If your starting hand is a pair of cards of the same value, you may choose to split the pair into two separate hands, each with an identical bet to the main hand. After the second card is dealt to both of your hands, you may improve the value of these cards to decide to Hit. Again, you may choose to Stand when you are satisfied with the value of both of your hands. However, if you split a pair of Aces, each hand will receive only one additional card and you will not be able to hit any more cards.
Charge
Once the cards are dealt, if the dealer does not have Blackjack, you will have to make a decision. One of the options is to cash out: if you decide to cash out, the hand is over and you will receive the value shown on the Cash Out button. The payout ratio for the Cash Out option varies depending on the score of your hand and the dealer's upcard. The Cash Out rule only applies to your main bet. You can control the visibility of this option in your decision panel under Settings.
Result
If your hand sum exceeds 21, you have busted and will lose the bet on that hand.
When decisions have been made for all hands, the virtual dealer's hole card is revealed. The virtual dealer must Hit when he has a hand of 16 or less and must Stand on a hand of soft 17 or higher. Remember that a "soft" hand contains an Ace worth 11.
You win when the value of your final hand is closer to 21 than the virtual dealer's hand or when the dealer busts. If the hand value is the same, the round ends in a tie and your bet will be returned to you.
If you choose to Cash Out, you will receive the amount displayed on the Cash Out button when the option is offered.
Blackjack is only possible using the two cards of the two cards initially dealt. A hand of 21 resulting from a split pair is not considered Blackjack. Therefore, Blackjack will beat any hand of 21 resulting from a split pair.
Additional bets
This variant of First Person Blackjack also allows for optional side bets, namely Perfect Pairs and 21+3. Please note that an initial bet is required in order to place side bets. You have the chance to win on any side bet, whether you win or lose on your initial bet.
Perfect Pairs
The Perfect Pairs side bet allows you to win if your first two cards form a pair — for example: two Queens, two Aces, or two 3s. There are three types of pairs, each with a different payout rate:
- Perfect pair – same suit, for example, two aces of spades.
- Color pair — different suits of the same color, for example, 2 of diamonds + 2 of hearts.
- Mixed pair — different suits of different colors; for example: 10 of hearts + 10 of clubs.
21+3
The 21+3 side bet gives you the chance to win if your first two cards plus the dealer's up card comprise any of the following winning combinations (similar to those in poker), each with a different payout:
- Matching three of a kind — a three of a kind of the same suit; for example: 3 queens of hearts.
- Straight Flush — in numerical order and of the same suit; for example: 10, Jack and Queen of Diamonds.
- Three of a kind — same value but different suits; for example: 3 kings of different suits.
- Straight — in numerical order but of different suits, for example: 2 of spades + 3 of clubs + 4 of hearts.
- Color — non-consecutive cards of the same suit, for example: 2, 6 and 10 of clubs.
Payments
- Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
- The winning hand pays 1:1.
- Insurance pays 2:1.
- The payout is paid between 0.4 and 1.77 times the bet.
