Power Blackjack

Objective of the game

Power Blackjack is a variation of Blackjack that offers the player to Double, Triple or Quadruple any two cards.

The objective of Power Blackjack is to get a sum of values greater than that of the dealer but without going over 21. The best hand is Blackjack, when the value of the first two cards is exactly 21. In this mode you compete against the dealer and not against other players.

  • It is played with 8 decks.
  • 9 and 10 removed from each deck.
  • Double, Triple or Quadruple any two initial cards.
  • Double, Triple or Quadruple after split.
  • You can split starting cards of the same value.
  • You can only split once per hand.
  • One card dealt for each split Ace.
  • You can purchase insurance if the dealer is dealt an Ace.
  • Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
  • Insurance pays 2 to 1.
  • The dealer always stands on soft 17.
  • The dealer checks Blackjack with JQK and Ace.
  • The game ends in a draw when the hands add up to the same amount.

Rules of the game

The game is hosted by a dealer and allows an unlimited number of players in each round of play.

The game is played with eight decks. The 9s and 10s are removed from each deck. The values of the cards in Blackjack are as follows:

  • Cards 2 through 8 are worth their face value.
  • Face cards (Jacks, Queens and Kings) are worth 10.
  • Aces are worth 1 or 11, depending on which is more favorable for the hand. Note that a “soft” hand contains an Ace worth 11.

After the betting time has elapsed, the dealer deals one card face up to each player, then one card to the dealer. The dealer then deals a second card face up to each player, but the dealer's second card is dealt face down. The value of the starting hand is displayed next to the cards.

Blackjack

If the value of the first two cards in your starting hand is 21, you have a Blackjack!

Sure

If the dealer's upcard is an Ace, you have the option to purchase insurance to minimize your risk in the event that the dealer has a Blackjack (even if the player also has a Blackjack). Insurance is equal to half of your main bet, and the insurance bet is placed separately from your hand bet. The dealer then looks at the value of his hole card to see if he has a Blackjack. If the dealer does not have a Blackjack, the game continues. If the dealer has a Blackjack but the player does not, the game ends and the dealer's hand wins.

If both the player and the dealer have a Blackjack, the game will end in a tie and your bet will be returned to you.

Dealer checks Blackjack with JQK

If the dealer's up card is a face card, he will check to see if the down card is an Ace and he has Blackjack. If the dealer has Blackjack, the dealer's hand wins. If both the player and the dealer have a Blackjack, the game ends in a tie and your bet is returned to you. If the dealer does not have a Blackjack, the game continues.

To ask or to stand

If the dealer does not have a Blackjack when checking his initial two cards, players have the opportunity to improve the value of their hands. Once it is their turn, the dealer offers to deal more cards to the players' hands.

If your starting hand value is not 21, you may decide to hit for an additional card to add to your hand value. You may hit more than once and stand once you are satisfied with the value of your hand.

Please note that the player will not be offered the decision option when his soft hand equals 21.

Double, Triple or Quadruple

Alternatively, you can choose to Double, Triple or Quadruple. If you do this, you will double, triple or quadruple your bet and only be dealt one additional card to your hand.

Split

If your starting hand is a pair of cards of the same value, you can choose to split the pair into two separate hands, each with an identical bet to the main one. After the second card is dealt to both of your hands, you can improve the value of these cards to decide to Hit. You can also improve the value of your hands by selecting Double, Triple, or Quadruple. Doing so will double, triple, or quadruple your bet and only one additional card will be dealt to each hand. Again, you can choose to stand when you are satisfied with the value of both of your hands. However, if you split a pair of Aces, each hand will receive only one additional card and you will not be able to hit any more cards.

Result

If your hand sum exceeds 21, you have busted and will lose the bet on that hand.

When all players have taken their turns, the dealer reveals the value of his hole card. The dealer must hit if his hand is equal to or less than 16 and stand if his hand is equal to or greater than 17. Remember that a “soft” hand contains an Ace which is worth 11.

The player wins if the value of his final hand is closer to 21 than the dealer's or if the dealer busts. If the value of your hand is equal to the dealer's, the game ends in a tie and your bet will be returned to you.

Blackjack is only possible using the two cards of the two cards initially dealt. A hand of 21 resulting from a split pair is not considered Blackjack. Therefore, Blackjack will beat any hand of 21 resulting from a split pair.

Additional bets

This Blackjack also includes optional side bets — Perfect Pairs, 21+3, Hot 3, Bust it . You can place additional bets in combination with your main Blackjack bet. The player has the option to win on any additional bet regardless of whether you later win or lose on your Blackjack bet.

Perfect Pairs

The Perfect Pairs side bet allows you to win if your first two cards form a pair, such as two Queens, two Aces, or two 3s. There are three types of pairs, each with a different payout rate:

  • Exact pair (same suit; for example: two Aces of spades).
  • Color pair (different suits of the same color; for example: 2 diamonds + 2 hearts).
  • Mixed pair (different suits of different colors; for example: 10 of hearts + 10 of clubs).

21+3

The 21+3 side bet allows you to win if your first two cards plus the dealer's showup form any of the following winning combinations (similar to those in poker), each with a different payout rate:

  • Matching Three of a Kind — an identical three of a kind, for example: 3x Queens of Hearts.
  • Straight Flush — in numerical order and of the same suit; for example: 10, Jack, Queen, and King of Diamonds.
  • Three of a Kind — same value but different suits, for example, any three of mismatched Kings.
  • Straight — in numerical order but of different suits, for example: 2 of spades + 3 of clubs + 4 of hearts.
  • Color — non-consecutive cards of the same suit, for example: 2, 6 and 8 of clubs.

Hot 3

The Hot 3 side bet allows you to bet on a three-card combination, consisting of your first two cards and the up card from the dealer's hand. There are several combinations for the Hot 3 side bet, each with a different payout:

  • Total 19, for example: Jack of Hearts, 2 of Diamonds and 7 of Spades.
  • Total 20, for example: 8 of hearts, 2 of diamonds and Queen of Spades.
  • Total 21, of the same suit, for example: 8 of Diamonds, 3 of Diamonds and King of Diamonds.
  • Total 21, not of the same suit, for example: 8 of hearts, 3 of diamonds and King of Spades.
  • 7-7-7, for example: 7 of hearts, 7 of clubs and 7 of diamonds.

Bust it

The Bust It side bet allows you to bet that the total value of the dealer's cards will exceed 21, i.e. he will bust.

The Bust It side bet is returned if the player has Blackjack.

There are several combinations for the Bust It side bet, each with a different payout:

  • You pass with 3 cards.
  • You pass with 4 cards.
  • You pass with 5 cards.
  • You pass with 6 cards.
  • You pass with 7 cards.
  • You pass with 8 cards or more.

Payments

  • Blackjack pays 3 to 2.
  • The winning hand pays 1:1.
  • If the dealer has a Blackjack, insurance pays 2:1.

The payout will depend on the type of bet placed.

decision making

When you receive your first two cards, you can make an initial decision regarding your hand. Decision options (e.g. Hit, Stand, Double, Triple, Quadruple, Split) will be displayed, and only the currently available options will be active. Each decision reflects real-time statistics: the decision other players made when they were in your exact situation and faced with the same options.

The different options available are represented as follows:

  • HIT: An additional card is drawn.
  • STAND: no more cards are drawn.
  • DOUBLE: The bet is doubled and only one additional card is drawn.
  • TRIPLE: Your bet has been tripled and only the additional card is drawn.
  • QUADRUPLE: Your bet has been quadrupled and only one additional card is drawn.
  • SPLIT: The bet is doubled and divided into two independent hands.

If you do not make a decision before the time runs out, the following self-decision will apply:

  • If the total value of the cards in your hand is 11 or less, then — HIT
  • If the total value of the cards in your hand is more than 11, then — STAND

If your balance is insufficient to Double, Triple, Quadruple or Split, the corresponding buttons for those decisions will be disabled.

If your balance is or becomes insufficient before the decisions to Double, Triple, Quadruple or Split are accepted, then those decisions will be rejected and the following auto-decision will be made instead:

  • If your decision was to Double, Triple or Quadruple, then — HIT.
  • If your decision was to Split and the total value of the cards in your hand is 11 or less, then — HIT.
  • If your decision was to Split and the total value of the cards in your hand is more than 11 then — STAND.
